1. Pioneer Museum

The Pioneer Museum aims to teach current and future generations about the impressive German history, culture and traditions of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County to preserve this proud heritage. Swaths of Germans who heard of a better life in America began making their way to Texas Hill Country in the 1840s. Located on 3.5 acres on Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg, the Pioneer Museum tells the stories of those who fought tooth and nail for a better life.
