This restaurant specializes in juicy burgers at its off-the-beaten path location in a former saddle shop on Alamo Road. In fact the burgers here are so tasty the famous “Cover Burger” was featured on the front cover of Texas Monthly’s Best Burgers in Texas issue! The Cover Burger is a half-pound cheeseburger topped off with grilled onions, avocado and green chiles on a jalapeno cheese bun. In addition to burgers, you’ll find sandwiches, chili dogs, chicken fried steak, a ribeye and more.

2. Hill Top Cafe

At Hill Top Cafe food and live music merge in a 1930s era gas station! There’s a bit of everything on the menu including fresh garden vegetables, native fruits and meats, red snapper, flounder, fresh gulf blue crabs, Louisiana crawfish and so much more. Don’t leave without trying one of their delicious pies, made from scratch with hand-rolled crusts, or cakes! Sunday brunch comes complete with live gospel music while you can catch additional performances at other times, including weekends.

3. Rathskeller

Long ago in Germany, the word Rathskeller was used to describe the basement of Town Hall (Rathaus) that was home to a tavern or restaurant. Hence the name for this basement bistro in the Historic Keidel Hospital Building on East Main Street in Fredericksburg! Rathskeller is one of the top German restaurants in Fredericksburg TX! You can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner full of traditional German dishes like bratwurst, schnitzel, and more. 4. Pecan Grove Store

This historic ice house and beer garden serves its famous Dino Burgers, hot dogs, fries, beer and wine in an old combination service station, store and garage that originally opened in 1957! Voted the Best Burger in Fredericksburg by the Fredericksburg Standard Post in numerous years, you won’t be let down by the quality of the food. Plus, Pecan Grove Store has live music on weekends for you to enjoy as you chow down. There’s even a Greek style burger, a vegetarian burger and plenty of fixings you can add to your burger.
