When you stay at our luxury tiny home and RV resort in the heart of Texas Hill Country, you’ll have plenty of options when it comes to places to eat! From BBQ to Tex-Mex, there’s something for everyone. Italian food is definitely a crowd-pleaser, so here are a few of our favorite Italian restaurants in Fredericksburg that you should try!

1. Pasta Bella Restaurant

Pasta Bella Restaurant is well-known for its Texas-size pasta portions, as well as gluten-free and low-carb options– the “pastabilities” are truly endless! You’ve to try the Pasta Bella Original Artichoke Bella, which is lightly floured deep-fried artichoke quarters with a lemon spinach cream sauce for dipping. It’s the perfect starter to share! Another unique appetizer is the Pasta Bella Nachos with ground beef and sliced black olives sauteed in a roasted red bell pepper and lemon cream sauce atop homemade fried lasagna noodle chips. For your entree, you can choose one of the pasta specialties such as seafood ravioli, manicotti, or eggplant parmesan. Or, build your own pasta creation and pick your favorite combination of pasta, sauce, and toppings! They also have daily lunch specials that come with garlic bread, a fresh salad, and a drink!

2. Alla Campagna

Reservations are strongly encouraged at Alla Campagna, an authentic Italian restaurant in Fredericksburg with an extensive food and drink menu. You can order a house-made cocktail, beer, wine, and more to pair with your meal, and starters range from salads and bruschetta to meatballs and their iconic Tuscan bean soup. Entrees such as the rigatoni, lasagna, and Margherita pizza won’t disappoint, but Mary’s Chicken might be the star of the show! The perfectly grilled chicken is served with local mushroom risotto, charred broccolini, pine nuts, parmigiano reggiano, and Texas olive oil. Be sure to save room for dessert– the tiramisu is heavenly, as is the Pasticcino alla Fragola, a lemon cake with strawberry marsala compote, basil, aged balsamic, mascarpone, and walnuts.

3. Bella Sera

Bella Sera is a laid-back family restaurant serving up classic Italian dishes and New York-style pizza. The Bella Sera pizza is a local favorite, topped with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage, hamburger, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and black olives. Their homemade garlic rolls are also phenomenal! Seafood lovers will enjoy the shrimp scampi or the lobster ravioli, as well as the salmon verona, a pasta dish with fresh garlic, mushrooms, sweet red peppers, capers, and artichoke hearts in a white wine lemon sauce over linguine. For dessert, choose from different types of cheesecake, cannoli, limoncello mascarpone, and tiramisu.

4. West End Pizza Co.

West End Pizza Co. is one of the top dog-friendly restaurants in Fredericksburg since it has a large outdoor patio and seating area. You can watch the game from the patio bar with your favorite local beer on tap or a glass of locally-made wine and soak in the beautiful Texas weather all year round! The menu features everything from mozzarella sticks and garlic knots to soups, paninis, salads, and pasta. Pizza is what they do best (it’s in the name after all), and a couple of their best specialties include the Meatza with double pepperoni, double Canadian bacon, and crumbled bacon as well as the BBQ chicken pizza.
