The new Texas state natural area will be located at 7690 Highway 46 West Pipe Creek, TX 78063. This location will make the Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area an ideal destination for guests looking to take a day trip, as it will only be about a 45-minute drive from our resort to the state natural area.
When will this new Texas state natural area open?
The current plan is for the new state natural area to open in the fall of 2026.

There will be lots for visitors to do at the Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area, including hiking, camping, and backpacking. There are also plans to have some mountain biking trails available. Where did the name of the new state natural area come from?
The new Texas state natural area is named after Albert and Bessie Kronkosky, who bought the land in the 1940s to help preserve the natural beauty of the area and protect it against commercial development. After the couple passed away, the land was given to the state of Texas in their will, which has allowed for development of this new state natural area. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has been working on the project for several years and it is now nearing completion!
